Ingredients

  • 1 14 cups flour
  • 34 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon baking powder
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup shortening
  • 12 cup peanut butter
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 12 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg, well beaten

Method

  • Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  • In a separate bowl beat shortening, peanut butter, sugar and well beaten egg.
  • Beat thoroughly.
  • Combine dry ingredients and wet ingredients.
  • Chill.
  • Form into 1 inch balls and place on lightly greased and floured baking sheet.
  • Flatten with a fork dipped in flour to create a criss-cross pattern.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
