Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cut peanut butter (chunky)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)

Method

  • Cream butter, peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla thoroughly. Sift together dry ingredients. Blend into creamed mixture. Shape into 1 inch balls, roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Criss cross with fork tines. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from sheet. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
