Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. soda

Method

  • Mix sugar, Karo, water and peanuts together in a heavy skillet.
  • Cook until golden brown and until the peanuts begin to pop, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Remove from fire and add the vanilla.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Add soda and stir vigorously.
  • Pour onto a well-greased sheet pan.
  • Spread as thin as possible.
  • When cold, break into pieces.
