Ingredients

  • 1 qt. plus 1 c. fresh peaches or berries
  • 1 Tbsp. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • dash of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 rounded c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. butter

Method

  • Boil first 6 ingredients together for 5 minutes, stirring gently, very often.
  • Set aside.
  • Melt butter in 8-inch square pan or deep dish that is ovensafe.
  • Combine sugar, milk and flour. Stir and pour into pan over butter.
  • Then pour fruit mixture on top of flour mixture.
  • Do not stir.
  • Bake at 350° until brown.
