Ingredients

  • 6 very ripe peaches
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • sprinkle of cinnamon

Method

  • Peel and slice peaches; place in bowl and add 2 tablespoons sugar.
  • Set aside for 1/2 hour.
  • In a shallow dish, melt butter. Sift together dry ingredients.
  • Add milk and stir.
  • Pour batter into baking dish over butter.
  • Spread evenly.
  • Top batter with peaches including juice.
  • Sprinkle top with cinnamon.
  • Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
  • Batter rises to top.
