Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 1 c. cold milk
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter

Method

  • Sift together into bowl the flour, salt and sugar.
  • Using a pastry blender, cut the shortening into the flour until it resembles corn meal.
  • Add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, and just enough to make particles stick together.
  • Roll out 1/2 of pastry, fill pie pan and brush with melted butter.
  • Add fruit filling. Roll out remainder of pastry and place on top of pie.
