Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 to 4 whole matzo
  • milk
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 lb. Muenster cheese, shredded

Method

  • In medium bowl, beat eggs.
  • Add cottage cheese, salt, pepper and garlic.
  • Mix well; wet matzo with milk until moist, not soggy.
  • Pour a little sauce in bottom of 8 x 8-inch baking pan. Layer remaining ingredients, alternating, matzo, cheese, tomato sauce and Muenster cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes. Let rest 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serves 6.
