Ingredients

  • 4 c. mashed (8 to 10 large) or 4 c. prepared instant potatoes
  • 1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese
  • 1 tsp. dried chives or 1 Tbsp. snipped fresh chives
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Method

  • In
  • large
  • bowl,
  • combine
  • potatoes,
  • sour cream, cream cheese, chives and garlic powder.
  • Turn into a greased 2-quart casserole.
  • Combine
  • bread
  • crumbs with butter;
  • sprinkle over potatoes.
  • Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
  • Top with cheese and serve immediately.
  • Dish can be assembled a day ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Yield:
  • 10 to 12 servings.
