Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast (not RapidRise)
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. warm milk
  • 3 eggs, beaten

Method

  • Mix flour, salt, sugar and Crisco.
  • Set aside.
  • Dissolve the yeast in water with sugar.
  • Let rise.
  • Mix warm milk, eggs and yeast mixture.
  • Stir and add to flour mixture.
  • Refrigerate overnight in a large greased sealed bowl.
  • Remove next day and use for sweet rolls, dumplings, hard rolls, kuchen or deep fried bread.
  • This dough can be kept refrigerated for 8 days.
