Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 5 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. minced oregano (4 if fresh)
  • 1 tsp. salt

Method

  • Stir together the yeast and two cups of the flour in large mixing bowl.
  • Heat together the remaining ingredients (except rest of flour) until lukewarm.
  • Add to flour-yeast mixture.
  • Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly.
  • Beat at high speed for 3 minutes.
  • Stir in as much of the remaining flour as you can mix in with a spoon.
