Ingredients

  • 1/2 clove garlic
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 (3/4 oz.) pkg. brown gravy mix
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. Burgundy or other dry red wine
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 c. thinly sliced green onion

Method

  • Saute garlic in butter in a large skillet.
  • Add gravy mix, water, wine and pepper; bring to a boil.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
  • Add mushrooms and green onion; cook until thoroughly heated.
  • Serve hot with beef patties or steak.
