Ingredients
- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. cold water
Method
- Sift flour and salt together.
- Cut in shortening, using 2 knives or pastry blended until size of small peas.
- Sprinkle water over mixture, while tossing gently with fork, until particles stick together.
- For ease in rolling out pastry, wrap dough in waxed paper and allow to chill in refrigerator.
- Lightly roll pastry into circle 1-inch larger than pie plate.
- Lift loosely into pie plate.
- Pat out air.
- Fold edges under and crimp.
