Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 6 eggs, separated
- 3 Tbsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix sugar and cocoa well.
- Add 3 cups of milk and heat.
- In a bowl, mix egg yolks, flour, salt and 3/4 cup milk.
- Beat egg mixture until smooth and add to hot mixture.
- Cook, stirring until thickened.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter.
- Pour into baked pie shell (makes two 10-inch or three 8-inch pies). Beat egg whites with 8 tablespoons of sugar and spread on top of pies.
- Then brown.
