Ingredients
- 2 lb. pork ribs
- 2 (32 oz.) jars sauerkraut
- 2 yellow onions
- 2 tart green apples
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. caraway seed
Method
- Drain the sauerkraut and mix in the caraway seed.
- Peel the onions and cut in half; core and cut the apples in wedges.
- Next, layer the ingredients in a large Dutch oven in this order: sauerkraut mixture, onions, apples, brown sugar and the ribs. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer gently for 2 or 3 hours until ribs are tender.
- Serves 6.
