Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. butter-flavored Crisco
  • 1 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. Quaker's Quick oats (not instant or old fashioned)
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Method

  • Heat oven to 375°.
  • Grease baking sheet with Crisco.
  • Combine butter flavor Crisco, light brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in large bowl.
  • Beat at medium speed of mixer.
  • Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  • Mix into creamed mixture.
  • Stir in raisins and walnuts.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 more minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Cool 2 minutes.
  • Remove from sheet to cool.
  • Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
