Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. softened butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 medium mashed bananas
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 1 1/4 c. chopped walnuts

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Mix dry ingredients; set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in vanilla and bananas.
  • Add flour mixture and beat until blended. Add water; blend in well.
  • Stir in walnuts.
  • Add batter to greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  • Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then turn out on rack to cool completely.
