Ingredients

  • 1 qt. small new potatoes
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • biscuit dough

Method

  • Peel and quarter potatoes.
  • Put in a 4-quart kettle along with the water.
  • Add the salt and pepper, butter and milk.
  • Boil until potatoes are tender.
  • Roll biscuit dough 1/4-inch thick.
  • Cut into 2-inch squares and drop into rapid boiling potato broth.
  • Cook dumplings 2 minutes.
  • Best served while hot.
