Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups All purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 cups oil for frying

Method

  • Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl or mixer. Mix all together until it is all evenly distributed throughout.
  • Slowly add the warm water a little at a time while kneading by hand or using an electric mixer fitted with the hook attachment. * With hand: Knead the dough 30-40 times gently turning to mix. Knead until the water is fully incorporated and dough in slightly smooth and sticky. * With Mixer: Mix the dough with an electric mixer on low speed while slowly adding the water. Mix on low for 5-10 minutes.
  • Once it is all mixed, cover with saran wrap or a clean kitchen towel and let rest for 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the frying oil in a frying pan to about 350 degrees F.
  • Divide dough into recipes yield (4 or 8). Roll or shape dough out into a round form about a 1/4 inch in thickness. (*think mini pizza)
  • Gently place dough into oil and cook until golden brown on the edge and flip to cook on the other side.
