Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. shelled walnuts
  • 1 1/2 c. unsalted roasted cashews
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 rib celery
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 15 1/2 oz. can whole chestnuts, with their liquid
  • 1 c. fresh pumpernickel or rye bread crumbs (about 2 slices)
  • 1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (about 4 oz.)
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 1 recipe Creamy Chestnut Gravy

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
