Ingredients
- double pie crust
- deep fat
- stewed (dried fruit) apples
- sugar to taste
- nutmeg or cinnamon to taste
Method
- Roll crust on a floured board.
- Cut with a large cookie cutter.
- Put 1 1/2 tablespoons sweetened, mashed, cooked fruit in each round.
- Moisten edges with cold water and fold to make semi-circle; press edges together with a fork.
- Fry in hot deep fat and drain well on paper towels when crispy brown.
- Great on cold winter days or just anytime.
