Ingredients

  • 12 slices firm white bread
  • 4 slices turkey
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 slices ham
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of white pepper
  • 1 c. milk
  • oil (for frying)
  • raspberry jam

Method

  • To assemble sandwiches, lay out 4 slices of bread.
  • Cover with turkey and Cheddar.
  • Add another layer of bread.
  • Cover that with Provolone and ham.
  • Top with remaining bread.
  • Beat eggs with flour, salt, white pepper and milk.
  • Dip sandwich in batter and deep fry at 390°, browning on both sides.
  • Keep warm until all four are fried.
  • To serve, cut in quarters; sprinkle with a little powdered sugar, if desired, and side with some jam for dipping. Serves 4 to 6.
