Ingredients
- 1 qt. milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
Method
- Scald (not
- boil)
- milk,
- sugar
- and Crisco, then cool. Mix yeast
- and
- remaining
- milk, sugar and Crisco mixture with flour. Set aside
- and
- let
- rise 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, add salt, baking powder and soda.
- Mix more flour to knead.
- Knead on board. Chill in refrigerator about 2 hours.
- When ready to use, roll out.
- Let
- rise
- and bake at 325° for about 35 to 40 minutes.
- A family favorite!
