Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. instant coffee
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled

Method

  • Mix flour, soda, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.
  • Combine sour cream, water, coffee and vanilla.
  • Cream butter.
  • Gradually beat in sugar; beat until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
  • Blend in chocolate. Alternately add flour and sour cream mixtures; beat after each addition until smooth.
  • Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
