Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 3 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pkg. marshmallows

Method

  • Cream sugar and shortening together.
  • Add eggs and beat.
  • Sift flour and salt.
  • Combine cocoa.
  • Add to sugar mixture.
  • Add nuts and vanilla.
  • Pour into greased 13 1/2 x 9 1/2-inch pan.
  • Bake 30 minutes at 300°.
  • Remove from oven and cover with marshmallows. Return to oven about 10 minutes to melt marshmallows.
  • Then ice with frosting.
