Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. cubed steak (4 to 6 steaks)
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large onion, sliced thin
  • 1 can whole, peeled tomatoes
  • 1 c. water

Method

  • Dredge steak in flour, salt and pepper mixture.
  • Brown coated steak in bacon grease (shortening may be used).
  • Remove browned steak to plate.
  • In pan drippings, saute onions until brown.
  • Add tomatoes and water.
  • Chop tomatoes as they begin to heat.
  • Add steak back to gravy and simmer until steak is tender.
  • Serve with hot biscuits! Delicious!
