Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped green pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules

Method

  • Cook onion in butter until tender, not browned.
  • Combine onion, ground beef, beaten egg, green pepper, parsley, salt, pepper and thyme.
  • Mix well.
  • Shape in 3/4-inch to 1-inch balls.
  • Brown meatballs in butter.
  • Remove from skillet.
  • Stir flour and beef bouillon granules in skillet; add 3 to 4 cups water.
  • Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
  • Season to taste.
  • Add meatballs to gravy.
  • Cover; simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serves 5 or 6.
