Ingredients
- 1 5/8 cups flour
- 4 3/4 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 5/16 cups sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 1/4 tablespoons butter
- honey optional:, / maple syrup / goden syrup, 1 or 2 tbs
- 5 1/4 ounces chocolate
Method
- STEP 1: the base: Melt the butter (175g) , add the flour (200g)/ sugar(60g), and stir until the dough is homogenous Spread it out into a baking tin and cook in a oven at 160°C/320°F for about 20-30min (I usually remove mine just before it starts getting light golden brown)
- STEP 2: the caramel Melt the butter (75g) in a saucepan, add the condensed milk (400g), the sugar(100g), any optional ingredient (I recommend always adding 1tbs liquid honey) bring to boil for a few minutes and then put on low heat until it thickens and becomes light golden NEVER STOP STIRRING, takes about 20-30 min (same amount of time it takes for the base to cook). Pour the caramel on the base and let cool down in the fridge while melting the chocolate
- STEP 3: the chocolate Melt the chocolate, add a bit of butter if your chocolate is not liquid enough, and pour over the caramel.
- Put in the fridge for at least 3 hours or until the chocolate harden
