Ingredients

  • 1 c. soft oleo or butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar (granulated or confectioners)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. finely chopped pecans
  • 15 candied or maraschino cherries

Method

  • Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add salt, vanilla, flour and nuts.
  • Blend well.
  • Refrigerate until easy to handle.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten slightly with a fork.
  • Press 1/2 candied or maraschino cherry in each.
  • Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
