Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Beat margarine at medium speed.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating well.
  • Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix well.
  • Combine flour, soda and salt.
  • Gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
  • Stir in pecans.
  • Shape dough into 2 (16-inch) rolls, wrap in wax paper and chill at least 4 hours.
  • Cut in 1/3-inch slices.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° for 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Cool on wire racks.
