Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 3/4 tsp. rubbed sage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. cracker crumbs (approximately 24 round buttery type)
  • 3/4 c. grated Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Beat egg and add all ingredients, reserving 1/4 cup cheese.
  • Form into a loaf in a 2-quart rectangular baking dish.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and bake a few minutes more to melt cheese.
