  • 13 oz. fat pork, chopped fine
  • 1 pt. hot water
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. dark brown sugar
  • 3 tsp. saleratus *
  • 1 1/2 lb. raisins
  • 6 c. flour
  • spices to suit taste
  • 1 1/2 glasses flour
  • 1 glass sugar
  • 2 eggs in glass half-filled with milk
  • flavoring
  • 11 tsp. melted butter (added last)
