Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 to 10 saltine crackers
  • 2 cans mushroom soup
  • 1 small can sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Mix ground chuck, onion, eggs, salt, pepper and crackers.
  • Mix well.
  • Shape into balls.
  • (Slightly flatten for quicker cooking time.)
  • Brown in skillet with lid (electric skillet works best) until both sides are brown.
  • Fill skillet 1/2 with water and let simmer 30 minutes.
  • Add mushroom soup and sliced mushrooms. Simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
