Ingredients

  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 qt. water
  • 2/3 tsp. paprika
  • 3 tsp. white sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 3 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • bread crumbs

Method

  • Mix the first 5 ingredients; let simmer while making meat loaf.
  • Mix all remaining ingredients together.
  • Add enough bread crumbs to hold meat together.
  • Cook in sauce on medium-low heat for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
  • The sauce may be used as a gravy for potatoes.
