Ingredients
- 2 c. tomato juice, divided
- 3/4 c. oats (uncooked)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 6 slices onion
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Combine all ingredients except beef, 1 cup tomato juice and onion slices.
- Mix well.
- Add beef; mix lightly, but thoroughly.
- Press into an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.
- Pour 1/4 cup tomato juice over top, then lay slices of onion on top, then pour rest of tomato juice over all.
- Bake 1 hour.
