Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. basil
- 6 oz. tomato sauce
- 2 c. fresh or canned tomatoes
- salt
- pepper
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
Method
- Heat olive oil in 3 quart pot. Saute garlic and onion until transparent. Add basil and continue sauteing for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes. Cut up tomatoes and add. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook on simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in soda.
