Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. salad oil
  • 1/3 to 1/2 c. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c. tomato ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • 2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 3 lb. top round beef (2 inch thick)

Method

  • Combine first 6 ingredients in covered jar and shake well. Score meat lightly on both sides and place in baking dish.
  • Pour marinade over meat and cover.
  • Marinate in refrigerator 2 to 3 hours, turning and basting occasionally.
  • Place meat on broiler pan and sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat 25 to 30 minutes, turning and basting frequently with marinade.
  • Slice thin and serve.
