- 2 cups sifted cake flour
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans and black walnuts)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup salad oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- 1 12 cups sugar
- 34 cup buttermilk
- 34 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 cup butter
Method
- Sift a little flour over raisins and nuts.
- Combine rest of flour with other dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
- Add salad oil, buttermilk, eggs and sugar, beat until smooth.
- Stir in nuts and raisins.
- Pour into floured and greased tube pan.
- Bake at 350F for 1 hour.
- Topping: Combine ingredients.
- Heat untill bubbly.
- Pour over hot cake right from the oven and do not remove from pan until cool.
