Ingredients
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 5 level Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 4 egg yolks
- 6 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- pinch of salt
- grated lemon peel
Method
- Combine sugar and cornstarch.
- Set aside.
- Measure and combine remaining 6 ingredients. Stir until it boils and then add sugar and cornstarch.
- Use 4 egg whites for meringue.
- Add 2 tablespoons sugar for each egg white and a pinch of cream of tartar.
