Ingredients

  • 1 c. (8 oz. can) sliced mushrooms, drained and rinsed
  • 3 cans French-style green beans or 2 pkg. frozen
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can water chestnuts, drained and rinse
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3/4 to 1 c. cubed Velveeta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. Accent
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Heat green beans until boiling, drain and set aside.
  • Brown onion and mushrooms in margarine in heavy skillet.
  • In a medium saucepan, add and heat together flour, milk, cheese, Tabasco, soy sauce, Accent and pepper until cheese melts.
  • In large ovenproof baking dish, mix green beans, cheese sauce, mushrooms and onions. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes and serve.
  • Yields 4 to 6 servings.
