Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 links sweet Italian sausage
  • 2 links hot Italian sausage
  • 1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can peeled Italian tomatoes, broken up
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1 (16 oz.) container Ricotta or creamed cottage cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. dried sweet basil leaves
  • dash of salt and pepper
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 15 cooked lasagne noodles
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. grated Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • Brown meats until done and drain; set aside.
  • Simmer tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, garlic and then add meat.
  • Mix together the Ricotta, parsley, eggs, spices, dash of salt and pepper and Parmesan in a bowl.
  • In lasagne pan, place in alternating layers the noodles, cheese mixture, Mozzarella and meat sauce.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot.
  • Serves 12. Excellent.
