- 1 1/2 lb ground beef (chuck)
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1/2 package lasagne noodles
- 1 lb small curd cottage cheese
- 2-3 cups shredded mozzarella/asiago cheese
- 12 slices provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 16 oz fire roasted crushed tomatoes
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/3 cu Parmesan cheese
Method
- Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
- Fry celery, onion, garlic in butter until tender.
- Add meat. Brown. Pour off excess fat.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, oregano, bay leaf and clook slowly 20 min
- Meanwhile, boil/rinse noodles
- Remove bay leaf. Add cottage cheese. Stir and bring to a boil.
- Layer in 9X13 baking dish noodles, 1/2 meat sauce, provolone cheese, 1/2 mozzarella/asiago cheese, noodles, meat sauce, provolone cheese, mozzarella/asiago cheese and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil. Cook 20-25 minutes. Uncover and cook until golden and bubbly (total 30-45 minutes).
