Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 34 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 12 cups flour, unsifted
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 12 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350F Butter a 9X13 pan.
  • Microwave butter 90 seconds; add cocoa and stir till mixed.
  • Add remaining ingredients (except chocolate chips and nuts) one at a time, stirring by hand only till blended.
  • Add flour all at once - do not over mix.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Pour into prepared baking pan; bake in preheated oven 28 to 32 minutes or until done.
  • Brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into center (away from chocolate chip) comes out clean.
  • These brownies are good chilled.
