Ingredients

  • 27 oz. can sauerkraut
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 c. tomato juice
  • 1 Tbsp. horseradish
  • 8 frankfurters

Method

  • Combine kraut, tomato juice, onion, horseradish and sugar. Mix lightly but thoroughly.
  • Turn into shallow pan.
  • Wrap each frankfurter with 1 slice bacon and arrange in decorative fashion on top of kraut mixture.
  • Bake in hot oven at 400° for 25 minutes or until bacon and franks are done.
  • Turn franks once during baking time so that bacon will be crisp.
  • Serves 4 or 5.
