Ingredients

  • 1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk (to melt caramels)
  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 60 vanilla caramels (14 oz.), unwrapped
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, pecans, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter.
  • Batter will be stiff.
  • Press 1/2 of the batter into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated 350° oven for 8 minutes.
