Ingredients
- 1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 1 c. pecans, chopped
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk (to melt caramels)
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 60 vanilla caramels (14 oz.), unwrapped
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, pecans, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter.
- Batter will be stiff.
- Press 1/2 of the batter into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Bake in preheated 350° oven for 8 minutes.
