Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 medium head cabbage, cut in thin wedges
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. seasoning salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 lb. kielbasa, cut in 1-inch pieces

Method

  • Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp.
  • Remove bacon, reserving drippings in skillet.
  • Crumble bacon and set aside. Add next 6 ingredients to drippings; cover and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat, turning cabbage once.
  • Add sausage; cover and cook 7 minutes.
  • Transfer to serving dish with slotted spoon; sprinkle with bacon.
  • Yields 6 servings.
