Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • dash of garlic powder
  • 1 piece salt pork

Method

  • Chop
  • up cabbage.
  • Peel and cut potatoes into bite size pieces.
  • Cut

  • onion.
  • Combine
  • cabbage, onion and potatoes into
  • large
  • soup
  • kettle. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper, garlic powder and salt pork.
  • Cover with water.
  • Bring to a boil over medium
  • heat,
  • turn
  • down and simmer for several hours.
  • Serve with homemade bread.
  • Even better heated up.
  • Freezes well.
