Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp. lemon extract
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. + 1 Tbsp. plain flour
  • 1/8 tsp. soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • powdered sugar (optional)

Method

  • Melt butter in 8-inch square pan and set aside.
  • Combine eggs and flavorings; beat until thickened.
  • Add sugar; beat well. Combine flour, soda and salt and stir in pecans.
  • Add to mixture and beat well.
  • Pour mixture into buttered pan and bake 40 to 45 minutes at 325° or until done.
  • Cool.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar; cut into 16 squares.
