Method
- Peel and slice sweet potatoes.
- Cook potatoes in water for 5 to 10 minutes and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
- Save water to add later. Make dough like you would biscuits.
- Roll out thin strips and cover the bottom and sides with strips.
- Use deep pan.
- Lay sweet potatoes in bottom of pan, then put margarine on potatoes. Sprinkle sugar over margarine.
- Repeat potatoes, magarine and sugar until you use all the potatoes, then pour the water which you used to cook the potatoes in and cover the potatoes completely.
- Next, cut more dough strips and cover the top.
- Then brush or cut small pieces on top of the dough.
- Sprinkle sugar on top.
