Ingredients

  • 3 slices bread
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 (16 oz.) can peas, drained (save liquid)
  • boned chicken, cut in pieces and boiled (about 1 lb.)
  • 1 1/4 c. condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/3 c. reserved liquid
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Grease and set aside 1 1/2-quart casserole.
  • Cube bread and toss in butter; set aside.
  • Drain peas, reserving liquid and place in large saucepan.
  • Blend in and heat thoroughly chicken, cream of mushroom soup, reserved liquid, salt and pepper.
  • Place in casserole and top with buttered bread.
  • Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until bread is browned.
