Ingredients
- 3 slices bread
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
- 1 (16 oz.) can peas, drained (save liquid)
- boned chicken, cut in pieces and boiled (about 1 lb.)
- 1 1/4 c. condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/3 c. reserved liquid
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Method
- Grease and set aside 1 1/2-quart casserole.
- Cube bread and toss in butter; set aside.
- Drain peas, reserving liquid and place in large saucepan.
- Blend in and heat thoroughly chicken, cream of mushroom soup, reserved liquid, salt and pepper.
- Place in casserole and top with buttered bread.
- Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until bread is browned.
