Ingredients
- 1 yeast cake
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. boiling water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. cold water
- 8 c. or more flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
- Melt shortening in 1 cup of boiling water.
- Cool.
- Add eggs, sugar, salt and cold water to shortening mixture.
- Add yeast mixture.
- Add flour and mix well. Set overnight or at least 5 hours in refrigerator.
- Three hours before baking, roll out and cut.
- Dip each roll into melted butter. Fold over and place on greased pan.
- Let rise double.
- Bake until brown.
